David McCallum of ‘NCIS’ Celebrates 55th Wedding Anniversary With His Wife, With Whom He Can Dance ‘For Hours’

Today, David McCallum and his wife celebrate 55 years of marriage, which is truly remarkable, especially in Hollywood. McCallum, on the other hand, had been married for ten years before meeting Carpenter.

McCallum’s first wife, Jill Ireland, was k1lled by a costar. Charles Brosnan developed feelings for Ireland and began a relationship with her, which ended McCallum and Ireland’s marriage. Ireland and Brosnan remained together until Ireland d1ed.

When asked how he felt about the situation, McCallum said he wasn’t angry at Brosnan for stealing Ireland from him and that he was glad they had found love in each other. He also discovered his happily ever after.

Carpenter and McCallum met the same year McCallum divorced Ireland. The couple hit it off right away and began dating soon after their first meeting. Later on, the couple married.

McCallum Reminisces About His Marriage

McCallum hasn’t been shy about posting photos of his wife on social media. He posts photos of special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries, but one shot in particular has captured the attention of his followers.

On the left side of the photo, there is a black and white image of two young people walking down the street. On the right, you can see a photo of McCallum and his wife smiling at the camera.

This photograph was unique in that it included a photograph from the day McCallum and Carpenter first met. They are running without looking at the camera in this action shot. The right side depicts the same couple in the same location fifty years later.

McCallum and Carpenter met while working on a photo shoot for “Man from U.N.C.L.E.” in 1965. Carpenter was 21 years old at the time, and McCallum was 11 years older, but that didn’t stop them from falling in love.

Carpenter, a former actress and model, was on the set of the photoshoot that day. She now assists McCallum in his charitable endeavors while raising her lovely family.

Parenthood is one of the many wonderful experiences McCallum and Carpenter have shared. Sophie and Peter are Carpenter and McCallum’s two children. McCallum has children from a previous marriage as well.

Many people were skeptical of McCallum and Carpenter’s relationship before they married because of the timeline in which it began. McCallum had not yet divorced when the couple began dating.

Even though they were working on a divorce, McCallum was still married to Ireland. McCallum and Ireland also have three children, who were worried about their father’s new relationship.

The couple has been so in love for so long that they celebrated the creator of “NCIS'” 80th birthday in Montecito by dancing for hours at the birthday party.

However, the couple continued their relationship without regard for what others thought. McCallum’s divorce from Ireland was finalized in 1967, two years after the couple met, and McCallum proposed to Carpenter.

Their wedding took place a few months later and was a low-key affair. They have remained under the radar for much of their marriage and are still madly in love, despite the fact that McCallum rarely speaks about his family in public.

Carpenter assists McCallum with philanthropic efforts such as the US Marine Corps. The couple is frequently photographed at Marine Corps events. They were even awarded the Semper Fidelis Award.

Inside the Wedding Anniversaries of the Couple

McCallum is usually reserved when it comes to his family on social media, but he has shared numerous photos of Carpenter and himself with Carpenter. These posts are usually accompanied by a heartwarming caption.

McCallum shared one such photo on the couple’s 50th wedding anniversary. Carpenter wore a white floor-length gown, and McCallum wore a black and white suit with a matching black bow tie.

The couple is surrounded by a band, and McCallum captioned the photo, saying it was a lovely way to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Prior to this, McCallum revealed that he and his wife celebrated their anniversary with dinner.

McCallum took to Facebook two days before the band photo was posted to share a photo of himself, Carpenter, and another woman. The trio was well-dressed and appeared to be in a restaurant.

The couple’s marriage may be regarded as unconventional.

Despite the fact that some fans find their relationship strange, McCallum and Carpenter are still in love. For 13 years, McCallum and Carpenter spent ten months of the year apart.

However, the couple has spoken about how easy it was for them to be apart for so long, saying: “For the past 13 years, we’ve spent ten months of the year apart… We stay in touch constantly, and there are all these vacations in America, such as Thanksgiving, where we can all get together. And then there’s the cellphones.”

When asked how they had stayed so madly in love for so long, McCallum revealed that their secret to bliss was that they had discovered what the other person wanted and made sure they got it. He continued, saying:

“My wife would like to become two people at this point, one in California and one in New York, and we both feel this way. After 13 years, we’re at the point where we should probably consider getting together.”

While the couple enjoyed their busy careers and all of the travel they were able to do to be with one another, as they grew older, they reduced their responsibilities and began focusing more on the family.

McCallum has eight grandchildren from his children from Ireland and Carpenter. He didn’t have much time to spend with his family when he was younger, but now that he’s older and his job is quieter, he can spend time with his grandchildren.

When asked about his grandchildren, McCallum admitted that he disliked being referred to as a grandfather; he admitted:

“They refer to me as grand-daddy. We don’t like the term “grandpa” because it sounds old – and I’m not. And some of them have the audacity to refer to me as grand-ducky.”

Although he dislikes the nicknames they gave him, he enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren as he celebrates a life full of adventure and success with his wife of 55 years.
