Sources Say Michael Weatherly’s ‘Rude’ Remarks About Mark Harmon Jeopardize His Potential Return on NCIS

Misguided Insiders say Michael Weatherly is doing himself no favors with his cocky attitude and rude put-downs of old foe Mark Harmon, who is credited with making drama a ratings blockbuster, according to RadarOnline.com.

Weatherly, 54, who left his role as Anthony DiNozzo in 2016, ruffled feathers in a resurfaced 2020 interview in which he hurled lightning bolts at 71-year-old Harmon, who played lead investigator Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

“Mark Harmon and I were on opposing sides. I was Antarctica, he was the North Pole, and we were just looking down there going, ‘What is up with your polarity? What exactly is going on? For me, the water goes down the drain the other way,”” Weatherly explained. “From the start, he was perplexed by my presence. “I felt like a small child who had consumed far too many bowls of Count Chocula!”

Weatherly has wanted to return to NCIS since his courtroom drama Bull ended after six seasons, according to sources. However, sources say the resurfaced interview has hurt his chances.

“Mark’s a legend, and people don’t like Michael talking trash about him,” an insider revealed. “Michael comes across as an immature a-and jealous, as well.”

“If he had half a brain, he’d shut up, but Michael’s a big oaf, and his ego needs constant stroking!”

As RadarOnline.com first reported in November, Weatherly has made it clear that he wants to return to NCIS.

“Michael is available now, and he’s made it clear that he’d like to return to his former show,” an insider said.

“When he left NCIS at the end of season 13, his co-workers understood but were disappointed,” a source explained. Producers were excited about the idea at the time, before the insults against Harmon.

“This could be a real slap in the face for Harmon, who retired last year but has been rethinking it,” a source says.

“Mark’s been teasing them about coming back for months,” said another insider. “He’s bored at home but refuses to leave.” As a result, the response is, “Let’s get Michael!” Even before Bull ended, Michael teased a return on social media.”

“That won’t sit well with Mark, but it’s entirely his fault.” “He’s kept them hanging all this time,” another source said.
