We’re still waiting for Season 21 of NCIS. So far, what do we know about the season? What’s the deal with the delay? Here is everything you need to know.

As much as we’d like to see a new season of NCIS, it’s not going to happen. That’s not to say it won’t happen; it’s just that the show won’t be launching this fall as normal.

All of this is due to strike delays. The WGA went on strike in May 2023, followed by SAG-AFTRA in July 2023. All of this has resulted in a production halt. There are no episodes without production. And we certainly don’t want the unions to accept anything less than a fair settlement.

So far, what do we know about the season? A lot can change, and we’ll keep this post up to date. For the time being, here’s what we know.

When does NCIS Season 21 begin?

There will be no debut anytime near. The show was supposed to return in the fall of 2023, but the strikes stopped that.

Reruns will be available in the fall, but new episodes will not be available until at least 2024. However, it is unclear when the earliest will be.

We won’t be able to reveal anything until the authors and actors return to work. That is taking a very long time.

NCIS Season 21 has how many episodes?

We usually get about 20 episodes per season. That will not happen this season. According to the latest information, production needs to resume by Labor Day Weekend in order to add 13 episodes to the seasons of the broadcast shows. That has not occurred.

The number of episodes will now be determined by how long the strike delays last. CBS will not want to stretch any of the major shows into the summer, so it will be as many episodes as can fit between whenever shows can resume and May 2024.

Who will appear in NCIS Season 21?

This season has yet to see any confirmed exits. Everyone, including David McCallum as Ducky, is expected to return. Of course, we only expect McCallum to appear in a few episodes here and there as he continues to step away from acting.

Here are the main characters we anticipate to see return:

  1. Gary Cole as NCIS Supervisory Special Agent Alden Parker
  2. Sean Murray as NCIS Senior Field Agent Timothy McGee
  3. Wilmer Valderrama as NCIS Special Agent Nicholas Torres
  4. Katrina Law as NCIS Special Agent Jessica Knight
  5. Diona Reasonover as NCIS Forensic Specialist Kasie Hines
  6. Brian Dietzen as Dr. Jimmy Palmer
  7. Rocky Carroll as NCIS Director Leon Vance

We also want to see Joe Spano reprise his role as former FBI Agent Fornell. This would just be for a few guest appearances, but we’re ready for it.

What will happen in Season 21 of NCIS?

We don’t know what to expect this season because the authors haven’t returned to work. There are no hints whatsoever. However, we can gain an idea from the closing episode of the previous season.

We left Nick Torres in an awkward predicament. He was sitting in someone’s home, someone who knew him and his family. He is willing to k1ll this man, but doing so jeopardizes his entire career and freedom. Will he murd3r the man? What occurred in the past? We’re excited to find out.
