Fans of ‘NCIS’ have made it clear that they want Mark Harmon’s ‘Agent Gibbs’ to return

NCIS will return for a 21th season. CBS made the official announcement of the military drama’s renewal. Sean Murray (Tim McGee) also shared the news on social media.

Fans were overjoyed to learn that NCIS would be renewed for another season, but they have concerns about Mark Harmon’s Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Will he appear in future episodes? If it were up to the fans, the answer would be an emphatic yes!

CBS has officially renewed the entire ‘NCIS’ franchise for additional seasons.

CBS finally announced in late March that NCIS would be renewed for another season. But they weren’t just talking about the flagship series.

Murray took to Instagram shortly after the CBS announcement to share the news with his 192K followers. “here we go again, baby…)”

Murray, Wilmer Valderrama (Torres), Rocky Carroll (Vance), Brian Dietzen (Jimmy Palmer), Diona Reasonover (Kassie Hines), Katrina Law (Knight), Gary Cole (Parker), appeared in the collage.

Fans have made it clear that they want Mark Harmon to return in season 21.

NCIS fans quickly flooded Murray’s post’s comment section with messages of congratulations for reaching such a rare milestone.

“Congratulations Awesome great job,” one person said. “I’m overjoyed!! Congratulations, and congratulations to the rest of the cast! “, another person added. “Best news I’ve had today,” said a third fan.

However, not every fan was pleased with the news because Harmon was absent from the photo collage. Because of his continued absence, some fans are concerned that Gibbs will never return. Furthermore, “Parker and the team” were mentioned on the show’s official social media accounts. Making it clear that he, not Gibbs, was now in charge.

According to Deadline, Harmon’s appearance on NCIS in season 21 is still unknown. They did note that he was still the series’ executive producer, and that “the door was left open for him to reprise his character whenever he would like to do it.”

Season 20 of ‘NCIS’ has received high ratings.

Despite Mark Harmon’s departure in episode 4 of season 19,, Season 20 has maintained relatively high ratings for CBS. NCIS has averaged 11.11 million viewers this season after shifting from its Tuesday night 10 p.m. (EST) time slot to an hour earlier on Monday night.

That’s a decrease in ratings for NCIS but an increase for that Monday night time slot. According to CBS, NCIS increased its Monday 9 p.m. (EST) hour by 149% compared to last season.

“NCIS, one of the world’s most popular and enduring series, and fan favorite NCIS: Los Angeles have been hugely successful on the CBS schedule for years,” CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl said, according to Pop Culture.

“With the addition of NCIS: Hawai’i, we are able to spread the strength of this formidable franchise across our schedule.” We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome back all three talented casts and creative teams to bring more compelling NCIS stories to viewers in the United States and around the world.”
