Here’s What We Know About the Future of ‘Blue Bloods’

Blue Bloods fans will need to make new Friday night plans for a while. The mid-season finale of the beloved CBS drama aired on May 17, and the remaining eight episodes of season 14 won’t air until fall.

Donnie Wahlberg, disguised as his character Danny Reagan, addressed fans in a set video: “Blue Bloods fans, thank you for being a part of our incredible season, but there’s still more to come. Trust me, it’s unforgettable and filled with family drama. Don’t miss the final season of Blue Bloods, airing this autumn on CBS. “See you soon.”

Fans expressed their frustration in the comments, with messages like, “you guys have made an utterly idiotic decision to cancel the show! It’s still popular and this makes zero sense.” Another wrote, “CBS, please don’t cancel this incredible show. It’s more than a show, it’s family. Nobody is ready to say goodbye.”

These dissatisfied viewers join the legions of supporters who formed the Save Blue Bloods campaign. Even actor Tom Selleck (Frank Reagan) had strong words for CBS, telling Country Living, “I think CBS will come to their senses. My hope is that CBS recognizes that we are still winning the night on Friday and performing on Paramount Plus.”
