Wilmer Valderrama, star of NCIS, may spend his Monday nights solving major cr1mes with his NCIS colleagues. The former That ’70s Show star, on the other hand, is now preparing to play a classic hero. In Disney’s upcoming series Zorro, he will don the mask of a legendary vigilante.
“A Zorro for this generation,” according to the description of the new television project. It’s also one that Valderrama is eager to enter. In a recent interview, the television star told Drew Barrymore that what Zorro meant to him as a child drew him to the series.
“As a Latino growing up, Zorro was the one character that made me feel like I could be a hero,” the NCIS star says of the upcoming Disney TV show.
“And its origin story will be extremely thoughtful,” Valderrama adds. “It will also be grounded in authenticity.”

The NCIS star plays the masked swashbuckling hero Zorro in this upcoming Disney streaming series. The project, which was announced late last year, is said to be full of “richly drawn contemporary characters.”
According to Disney, the Zorro series focuses on “relationships set against the action, drama, suspense, and humor.”
In a nutshell, it’s everything we’d expect from a Zorro series…a lot of exciting adventure! In addition to his starring role in the eagerly anticipated series, Wilmer Valderrama will serve as Zorro’s executive producer.

Wilmer Valderrama expresses his excitement to collaborate with the other showrunners on the upcoming Disney series. People like Gary Marsh, another Zorro executive producer. The NCIS star also expresses excitement about reintroducing “Zorro back into the family (Disney) after 60 years.”
It’s thrilling to be a part of the Zorro legacy, says Valderrama. The star emphasizes the importance of the hero’s impact on future generations. It’s also a dream come true for Valderrama to show “other children that they, too, can be the heroes of their own stories.”

The upcoming Zorro series is just one of many projects in the works for the NCIS star right now. Wilmer Valderrama recently voiced the Madrigal patriarch Agustn in the wildly successful animated Disney film Encanto.
Valderrama is also reprising his role as popular foreign exchange student Fez in That ’70s Show. That ’90s Show, a Netflix spin-off series, stars Valderrama and many of his former co-stars.
“I have a lot on my plate,” Valderrama admits to Drew Barrymore.
“But I’m up for the challenge,” says the star.
