The rescue of Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) is the centerpiece of the first part of the NCIS Hawai’i season 2 finale.

Tennant was already prepared to flee her captors. However, a well-timed sniper shot from Hanna contributed to Tennant’s safety.

The two then talk for a few minutes on the phone. Tennant expresses her appreciation, but Hanna dismisses it nonchalantly. He claims he was “just doing his job.”

The NCIS Hawai’i characters wrap up their conversation with Hanna volunteering to assist Tennant if she ever needs it.

Hanna also describes being close enough to Tennant’s location in Venzula to operate as a sniper.

As the Hawai’i episode ended, it was suggested that Agent John Swift (Henry Ian Cusick) would be the one to seek Hanna for help as a way of incorporating the Los Angeles vet on occasion.

This establishes LL Cool J’s future engagement in the NCIS Hawai’i cast, with the veteran performer slated to appear on a recurrent basis.

LL Cool J may not be the only returning member of the cast.

Keeping in mind that the LA spinoff was canceled because it got too expensive for CBS, other popular faces may join with Hanna, allowing their tales to continue without the financial restraints of a veteran series.

Daniela Ruah recently indicated interest in repeating her role as Kensi on NCIS Hawai’i.
