Are you missing the cast of NCIS: Los Angeles after the series finale? Daniela Ruah, one of the show’s actors, hinted at a possible return to the franchise in the future. Is Kensi Blye heading to NCIS Hawai’i now that NCIS Los Angeles has been canceled? Here’s everything we know so far.

On May 21, 2023, NCIS: Los Angeles came to an end with an emotional Season 14 conclusion. The show was the first spin-off of NCIS and followed the Los Angeles-based Office of Special Projects (OSP), which specialized in undercover assignments and apprehending dangerous cr1minals.

The show, which starred LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell, debuted in September 2009 and ran for 14 years. NCIS: Los Angeles was the eighth longest-running CBS primetime scripted series when it was terminated in 2023.

Daniela Ruah portrayed NCIS special agent Kensi Blye from 2009 until the show’s final season in 2023. In an October 2022 interview with Smashing Interviews, the actress discussed the best part of playing Byle.

“The best part about playing her is that she’s a flawed human being like everyone else, and she learns from her mistakes.”

She is well-educated. “She’s fiercely independent, but I think she’s grown to understand that it’s okay to emotionally rely on someone else after all these years,” she explained.

“Her own traumas of losing her father, not having a present mother, running away from home as a teenager, and living on the street for a while gave her the impression that no one is going to give you anything.” You must go after it on your own and rely on yourself.”

She also referred to her coworkers, whom she has known for 14 years, as her family. “I’m proud of our team. The cast is fantastic. I adore the cast. We’ve become a family at this point. You share a meal with the rest of the cast and staff. Crew members attended her wedding, including LL Cool J, O’Donnell, Eric Christian Olsen, Marty Deeks, Nell Jones, Henrietta Lange, and others. “They were there when I met my husband (Olsen’s brother/stunt double David Paul Olsen) and when I was pregnant with my children in seasons five and eight.” When I had the kids, they were sending me messages. “We’re all very close.”

Is Daniela Ruah, like LL Cool J, headed to NCIS: Hawai’i? Continue reading to discover out.

Is Kensi Blye joining NCIS: Hawai’i following the cancellation of NCIS: Los Angeles?

Kensi Blye to join NCIS: Hawai’i following the cancellation of NCIS: Los Angeles? The answer is maybe! Ruah was asked if she would ever reprise her role as Kensi by our sister site TVLine in July 2023. “If I get asked, I will certainly figure it out at the time,” she replied, adding, “If it makes sense, why not, right?”

The last time we saw Byle on NCIS: Los Angeles, she was learning that she and Deeks (Eric Olsen) were about to become babies. Ruah said to TVLine that she was “overjoyed” with her character’s pregnancy news. “I was overjoyed because I believe these characters deserve everything and more.” They’re decent individuals who work for the greater good of the world, are unselfish, and have developed and matured so much in the previous 14 years,” she said.

When asked why he waited until the finale to reveal Kensi’s pregnancy, showrunner R. Scott Gemmil said, “Probably because I would have had to deal with it next season in terms of what that means — if they have a baby, what’s the reality of having two people in a dangerous job where you could lose both parents in any single episode?” So I would have resisted. That was presumably something we’d do once the show ended.”

Ruah became upset as she reflected on the show’s influence on her life. “My whole life, Matt, happened on this show,” she explained. “I made friends for life.” I met my future hubby. I had my children, bought my first home, and moved to an insanely busy city…”

The actress could follow in the footsteps of NCIS: LA actor LL Cool J, who will appear as a recurring guest role on Hawai’i’s Season 3 cast. “Couldn’t keep Sam Hanna away from the case for long!! Starting today, Sam Hanna will join the @NCISHawaiiCBS team as a recurrent guest star in the forthcoming third season,” LL Cool J stated on Twitter in a May 2023 tweet accompanied by a photo of him and Hawai’i frontrunner Vanessa Lachey.

Lacey was thrilled to welcome LL Cool J to the Hawai’i family, and we’re sure she’ll be just as thrilled if writers decide to bring Kensi back as well. “One of the most beautiful aspects of working on NCIS: Hawai’i is the show’s ability to unite the franchise.”

“With the triple crossover, we’ve had so much fun spreading the aloha to NCIS and NCIS: LA,” Lachey said in a statement published by Variety. “Now we have the incredible opportunity to bring Sam Hanna to Hawai’i to help the island solve some cases while also having a few laughs.” Todd, welcome to the ohana! It’s going to be an exciting ride!”

NCIS: Hawaii is the NCIS universe’s fourth spin-off. The show debuted in 2021 and has just finished its second season. According to our sister publication, Deadline, CBS announced in February 2023 that NCIS: Hawaii had been renewed for a third season for 2023-2024. Lachey is the first Asian American woman to lead an NCIS series.
