Pauley Perrette, a former NCIS star, made a rare appearance on television this week to show her support for a cause close to her heart.

Pauley Perrette may have retired from acting after the cancellation of CBS sitcom Broke, but the NCIS legend made a rare appearance on American television this past weekend. Perrette’s stock in Hollywood remains high despite leaving the role of NCIS fan favorite Abby Sciuto behind her in 2018. Fans keep up with what she’s up to on social media. On July 23, she appeared on KTLA 5 to participate in Project Angel Food’s Lead with Love 3 telethon.

According to its website, Project Angel Food “prepares and delivers healthy meals to feed people impacted by serious illness, bringing comfort and hope every day.”

Former NCIS star Perrette has been a vocal supporter of the organization, encouraging donations on social media and appearing on telethons.

This year’s channel host was Eric McCormack and Jessica Holmes from the US network KTLA 5.

“Project Angel Food is all about love and caring, and no one knows that more than our friend and Project Angel Food trustee, Pauley Perrette,” Holmes said as he welcomed Perrette into the studio.

Applause erupted in the studio as Holmes exclaimed, “Pauley! “How are you doing?”

“I’m so happy to be back here,” Perrette told the audience. “I was here last year, and it was fantastic.”

“That’s right, and I know how much this organization means to you, and we know that every donation made tonight lets someone in our community know that we care,” Holmes responded.

“(And) that they are not alone, that they are loved, and that they are a part of something bigger.”

“And from the stories we’ve heard tonight, that’s such an important thing,” she added, before Perrette responded, “It is, and we’re not just giving food, but we’re giving love.”

“Tonight is our night to invite you to participate in this wonderful thing!”

“You can be a part of it because it’s really cool,” the former NCIS star added before reaching into her sock. “In fact, I have…

“This is my $9,000 check, and I believe you can deposit it… That’s for Angel Food Project.”

“That is so generous of you, Pauley,” McCormack replied, jokingly pocketing the check for himself.

The stars in the studio laughed as Perrette continued, “I’m proud to be a part of it, and I’ve been a part of it for a long time.”

“Now, I’m really excited to say what I’m about to say because – I’m supposed to say this – but I’m a huge fan, so this is like me in my bedroom with my girlfriends doing the Love Is a Battlefield dance… Spoiler warning.

“Our next guests have graciously taken time out of their North American tour to perform their much-loved classic, We Belong,” says the emcee.

“Please welcome Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, the legendary 2022 Hall of Fame inductees.”

The singers were just two of the A-listers who took part in the charity event alongside Perrette.

“See me and a bunch of other folks on @KTLA tonight, Saturday, at 7pm PT for our third #LeadWithLove Telethon for #ProjectAngelFood,” Perrette teased her 709.2k Twitter followers.

“Giving food and love to those in need.” Participate!!!
