NCIS Showrunner Hints at Potential Tony and Ziva Spin-Off Crossover

Excitement is building for the upcoming “NCIS” spin-off featuring Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo as Tony and Ziva. In a recent interview with TV Line, co-showrunner Steve D. Binder hinted at a possible crossover with the flagship “NCIS” series.

“It’s been a long creative process with multiple iterations… Let me put it this way: I would love to,” Binder said. “I believe Michael would be up for anything like that. So we are all for it.”

Steve Binder expressed openness to new ideas and acknowledged that Cote de Pablo’s brief return in season 17 and Michael Weatherly’s recent appearance in season 21 could be used as a “jumping off point” for the crossover, adding, “We might be able to do a little more than that.”

Details concerning the Tony and Ziva spin-off remain unknown, but Michael has stated that filming will begin in Europe this summer. Michael and Cote teased the plot in a joint statement, saying: “The world of Tony and Ziva (and daughter Tali) promises to be an action-packed roller coaster fueled by love, danger, tears and laughter.” Cote said, “I expect intrigue, romance, the background of Europe, impossible situations that will make our lives very complicated, but somehow a little something about love.”

In addition to the spin-off, Michael and Cote are launching a Spotify video podcast titled “Off Duty: An NCIS Rewatch,” where they will recap episodes of “NCIS” with special guests. The guest line-up includes Sean Murray, Brian Dietzen, Sasha Alexander, and more. The podcast premieres on June 4, featuring banter, hilarious on-set takes, and fond memories from their “NCIS” days.

The first trailer for the podcast has been released, offering a glimpse of the fun and nostalgia fans can expect.
