NCIS to Pay Tribute to ‘Ducky’ in Emotional Episode – Release Date, Plot Details

In a painful news for faithful NCIS fans, the hit television show will honor the memories of original cast member David McCallum, who played the beloved character Ducky.

McCallum died on September 25th, at the age of 90, leaving a legacy that has touched viewers’ hearts for years.

TV Line has exclusively reported that Episode 2 of the upcoming season, scheduled to premiere on February 12th, will address McCallum’s passing and serve as a heartfelt tribute to both the actor and his iconic character.

Adding to the poignant nature of the episode, longtime cast member Brian Dietzen, who has portrayed Ducky’s protege Dr. Jimmy Palmer since Season 1, is a co-writer on the episode.

In an exclusive statement to TV Line, NCIS co-showrunners Steven D. Binder and David North revealed details about the upcoming tribute episode. “In the episode, the team will learn of Ducky’s passing and reflect on their memories of him as they grieve,” the creators of the show said.

They also hinted at a twist, adding that, in classic Ducky manner, he will be able to solve one more cr1me with the team even after his character is gone.

While Binder and North did not provide details about potential cameos from returning cast members, they assured fans that the episode would feature a “very touching and special moment” that viewers won’t want to miss.

NCIS Season 21 will start on February 12th, with the Ducky memorial episode airing the following week, on February 19th.

As fans prepare to say goodbye to a beloved character and performer, the forthcoming episode promises to be a moving and memorable tribute to David McCallum’s long-standing commitment to the NCIS history.
