Pauley Perrette took to Twitter this week for the first time since November to reassure fans that she was safe following the California earthquake.

The Malibu coast in Los Angeles, California, has been affected by a recent earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2. The quake occurred approximately nine miles off the coast, but the 3.5 magnitude aftersh0cks hit Los Angeles just moments later in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Perrette, a former NCIS star, took to Twitter to reassure fans that she was safe after feeling “obligated” to do so.

It had been two months since Perrette, who is typically private, had taken to social media to share updates with her 704.3k followers.

Perrette broke her silence after the earthquake to reassure fans that she was fine.

“Because when there’s a #earthquake, everyone in LA tweets #earthquake,” she explained.

“Or, if you’re not sure if that was a #earthquake, you tweet #earthquake. You look up the hashtag #earthquake on Twitter.

“I feel obligated to come on here now and tweet the word #earthquake,” she said before signing off.

While it appears Perrette was making fun of the number of people who took to social media in the aftermath, many fans were relieved to hear she was doing well.

Melinda Ann Weaver responded to Perrette, saying, “Where have you been? I’m relieved to hear you’re okay.”

“Nice to see you on here again!” Dione Umbach said. But I’ve been following you on Instagram!

“I hope the #earthquake didn’t jolt you too much and that you stayed safe during all those rainstorms!”

“Good to see you’re still around,” Carl Barnes said. “I’m missing your tweets.”

“So nice to hear from you again,” said @BatmanTheFirst. I hope everything is well with you. Best regards, Germany.”

“Love you, Pauley!” encouraged @SoapGirl21. “Take care of yourself,” she said, followed by a heart emoji.

According to a tweet from the Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management. “This morning’s M4.2 quake off the coast of Malibu is a reminder that we live in #earthquake country,” he tweeted.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the US National Tsunami Warning Center assured there was no threat of a tsunami.

Meanwhile, while Perrette has been relatively quiet on Twitter, she has been regularly updating fans on Instagram.

Following a series of fake accounts claiming to be her, the former NCIS star joined the photo-sharing platform last year.

For 15 years, Perrette portrayed Abby Sciuto on the CBS drama, which is now in its 20th season.

She left the role in 2018 and went on to star in the same network’s sitcom Broke.

The door was left open for Abby to return to the cr1me drama, but there has been no official word on her return.

In fact, Perrette announced her retirement from acting after the conclusion of Broke.
