CBS has officially renewed NCIS for Season 24 following the explosive Season 23 finale, which left fans shocked after a mysterious shooting involving Torres and Mateo. The new season is expected to premiere in fall 2026.
The long-running procedural remains the centerpiece of the growing NCIS franchise, which also includes NCIS: Origins, NCIS: Sydney, and the upcoming NCIS: New York. Originally launched as a spin-off of JAG, the series has become one of the longest-running scripted primetime shows on television.
Although the Season 23 finale ended on a major cliffhanger, the main cast is expected to return, including Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, Katrina Law, and Gary Cole.
CBS also confirmed that NCIS will continue airing on Tuesday nights during the 2026–2027 television season alongside NCIS: Origins and NCIS: New York. While an exact premiere date has not yet been announced, Season 24 is expected to debut around October 2026 if the series follows its usual schedule.
