NCIS season 20 theory: Torres Will Reunite With Gibbs After Star Reveals the Location

After Torres star Wilmer Valderrama dropped a major hint, NCIS fans may finally see Gibbs’ long-awaited return in season 20.

In season 20 of CBS’ long-running procedural drama NCIS, Jethro Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon) could make a highly anticipated return. Torres star Wilmer Valderrama provided a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming filming location, which sparked this theory.

While NCIS is currently on hiatus, fans are anticipating its return after actor Wilmer Valderrama shared a first look at the show’s location.

He posted a video to his Instagram stories that gave fans a sneak peek at an upcoming episode set in a barn.

The camera pans quickly across the location as the crew prepares to film the episode.

Despite the fact that none of the stars appear in the video, fans will recognize the barn from the season 18 finale and season 19 premiere.

Season 18 ended on a cliffhanger when the team went undercover to visit Gibbs’ newly built boat and there was an unexpected explosion.

The suspended team leader, however, survived the blast and was seen swimming away in the final moments of the episode.

Gibbs made it to the shore during the season 19 premiere, but after realizing he had been impaled, he stumbled back into the lake, where he lost consciousness.

When Gibbs awoke, he found himself patched up and locked inside a strange barn.

If this is the same barn Wilmer posted on Instagram, it could mean Gibbs and Torres will be reunited soon.

Because the barn was the last place Gibbs was seen hiding out, it’s possible the two agreed to meet there for a chat.

Torres was heartbroken after Gibbs’ departure in the season 19 episode Great Wide Open.

Torres admitted he felt abandoned when he discovered his boss and father figure, Agent Gibbs, had decided to stay in Alaska, as had his love interest, Agent Eleanor Bishop (Emily Wickersham).

“Who’s left to care?” Torres asked his colleague and friend Timothy McGee (Sean Murray). You already have a family until you don’t. You don’t require my assistance.”

Torres and Gibbs formed an endearing bond in season 18, after the show took a personal turn.

The agent reconnected with his biological father, Miguel (Steven Bauer), who abandoned him as a child.

Although Miguel claimed he left the family to keep them safe, it wasn’t until his father shot his bulletproof vest that Torres agreed to restart their relationship.

When the agent arrived at his father’s hotel room, Torres was surprised to see Miguel had left.

Torres went to Gibbs after being disappointed, and the two shared steak and conversation.

With Gibbs’ departure, the agent spoke with therapist Dr. Grace Confalone (Laura San Giacomo), who told him, “Sometimes people leave.” Fathers, too. It has nothing to do with you.”

Although Gibbs’ return has not been confirmed, fans will have to wait and see if the two reunite this season.
