Michael Weatherly portrayed Special Agent Anthony ‘Tony’ DiNozzo on the hit CBS drama NCIS for 13 seasons.
Will Weatherly, the NCIS star’s younger brother, d1ed on Saturday, April 29th.
He announced the tragic news on Twitter over the weekend, along with a touching photo of the brothers as young boys.
“My younger brother Will Weatherly shed his mortal coil on April 20th, 2023 and now continues his journey through the universe,” wrote Weatherly.
“He was always interested in traveling.” As difficult as it is for friends and family to say goodbye, we know there is a smile in his memory. Brother, may you rest in peace.”
Weatherly has four half-sisters in addition to his brother, though the NCIS star keeps much of his personal life private.
Following his heartbreaking news, several NCIS fans expressed their condolences in the comments section.
@herbstkartoffel responded, saying, “Wishing you and your family strength and your brother peace on his journey.”

“I lost my younger brother too soon,” Laurali Rox responded.
“Know that he is content where he is. He’s off on another adventure, which he’ll tell you about when you finally join him.”
Weatherly is also well-known for his six-season run as the titular psychologist Dr. Jason Bull in CBS’s popular legal drama Bull.
After the series ended last year, many fans speculated that he might reprise his role as Agent DiNozzo for a guest appearance on NCIS.
He has teased the possibility on several occasions, but neither CBS nor the show’s producers have confirmed anything as of yet.
