Mark Harmon is best known to NCIS viewers for his long-running role on the popular show.
Furthermore, Mark, now 71, has demonstrated how little he’s aged over the years, as evidenced by these unearthed throwback photos!Mark looks exactly the same in a 1996 photo, only with brunette hair.
The actor has had the same piercing blue eyes and defined brows for decades, as well as the same floppy hairstyle.
Mark’s genes are strong, as his two lookalike sons, Sean, 35, and Ty, 30, demonstrate.Sean has previously appeared in NCIS alongside his father, playing a younger version of his father.
In 2008, he made his first appearance on the show as a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs in flashback episodes. His most recent appearance was in the episode Everything Starts Somewhere from 2020.
Along with Sean, Mark’s wife, Pam Dawber, played Marcie Warren on NCIS.When Mark left his role as Leroy on NCIS in season 19 of the popular show, his fans were devastated.
He opened up about his decision to leave the show nearly a year later for a special featurette on the show’s season 19 DVD release.
He sat down to discuss his character’s legacy, as well as his thoughts on how the show wrapped up his storyline, and said that the opportunity to tackle “fresh” and “challenging” material is what kept him returning to the drama every season — implying that after nearly two decades on the show, he no longer felt that way.
Following Mark’s onscreen departure, Showrunner Steve Binder issued a statement heavily implying Gibbs could return in future seasons.
“As an executive producer and dear friend, Mark continues to be an integral part of the show’s fabric,” it said. Staying true to our characters has always been our north star, and that truth has always guided the stories we tell and where those characters go.
“In terms of Gibbs’ future, as long-time fans of the show may have noticed over the years… never count Leroy Jethro Gibbs out.”While Mark is well-known for his acting, little is known about his personal life – and he prefers to keep it that way.In an interview with TV Insider, he previously explained why he has chosen not to join Instagram or Twitter.
“It’s who we are,” he said of his and Pam’s privacy. We remain at home. A lot. I’m not a fan of Twitter or Facebook. Our sons aren’t interested either. Pam and I have both made a living in this industry, and there’s still a part of it that’s just not natural.”
