Michael Weatherly has broken his silence on social media, following his unexpected comeback as Tony DiNozzo in NCIS season 21, episode 2.
Michael Weatherly breaks his silence on his return to NCIS, following his surprise Tony DiNozzo cameo. Nearly a decade after leaving the CBS police procedural, the actor reprised his legendary role as the “Very Special Agent” in the recent David McCallum tribute episode. There was little indication that he might appear, although Mark Harmon’s Leroy Jethro Gibbs was more likely to return given his long-standing friendship with Dr. Mallard.
Nonetheless, DiNozzo’s return in NCIS season 21 was a happy event, which Weatherly marked with a fresh social media post. Check it out below.
Weatherly posed with director and NCIS: LA actor Daniela Ruah, who has been set to direct a handful of NCIS episodes this year. Weatherly also praised Jimmy Palmer actor Brian Dietzen for co-writing the Ducky tribute episode with Scott Williams.
