One of the main reasons people watch “Blue Bloods” week after week is to see what the Reagans accomplish this time. Although the family has dealt with hundreds of incidents, no family can be an island.
After all, New York City is a large city to police, so they all naturally rely on the assistance of other wonderful citizens who have made it their business to keep the city secure.
The majority of fans adore Detective Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez), Danny’s (Donnie Wahlberg) companion since Season 3. Over the years, the two have become so in sync that they’ve nabbed a slew of cr1minals with no planning.
Several officers, lawyers, and politicians have also appeared in the series, sometimes for a single episode and occasionally as part of a recurrent arc. But, of all the non-Reagans out there, one has certainly made a bigger impression on fans than the rest.
The most popular character among fans is Detective Anthony Abetemarco.
One Redditor started a thread in which everyone was asked to choose their favorite non-Reagan character from “Blue Bloods.”They began with “Anthony,” performed by Steven Schirripa, and many more rapidly followed suit.
Sixteen of the 35 comments put Anthony at the top of their list. Maria Baez and Abigail Baker (Abigail Hawk) are also mentioned, but it’s evident that Anthony’s candor and ability to crack jokes have made him a fan favorite among viewers.
During an interview with Talk Nerdy With Us, Schirripa highlighted what he appreciated about the character. “He’s very loyal, and I think he’s very good at what he does,” he said. He’s an excellent investigator.
And, while Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan), the District Attorney, is incredibly smart and comes from a powerful family, Anthony comes from a different place. He is from a working-class household. He’s from Brooklyn. They work well together, although they have opposing points of view.”
Anthony has played an important role in the procedural since Season 6, and with Season 13 on the horizon, there will be plenty more Anthony to come.
