On the surface, filming a TV show appears to be enjoyable. Regardless of your stance, you are contributing to the telling of a narrative that will hopefully delight millions. You play a minor role in temporarily distracting folks from their problems and directing their attention to whatever interesting story you’re attempting to tell. To that extent, it can be pretty enjoyable.

However, there are several drawbacks to filming. Whether you’re a grip or an actor, something will inevitably get in your way and make your job more difficult. And just because a show is as precisely honed as “Blue Bloods” doesn’t mean problems don’t arise. For whatever reason, a certain scene may be difficult to get just right, and the cast is more than eager to discuss those issues after the fact. Bridget Moynahan, who plays Erin Reagan on “Blue Bloods,” recently commented about the type of scenario she struggles to get right in an interview.

Bridget Moynahan has difficulty shooting nighttime scenes.

In honor of the show’s 250th episode, TV Insider reached out to the cast of “Blue Bloods” with fan questions. Viewers naturally wanted to know everything about the show, from whether Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) would ever have another love interest to whether there would ever be a Father’s Day episode. One fan explicitly asked Bridget Moynahan, “What’s been your toughest scene to film?”

The actress answered by saying, “Any scene shot at night is difficult because I am an early bird who goes to bed at 9:30.” It’s all part of Moynahan’s wellness regimen, as she subsequently explained to The Bare Magazine: “Living a healthy lifestyle, using sunblock, drinking lots of water, it all adds up.” I, too, am an early riser. I’ll start working at 4 a.m., but I’ll never stay awake until 4 a.m.”

As any “Blue Bloods” fan is well aware, there have been numerous scenes with Erin Reagan out late at night. When you’re the assistant district attorney, that comes with the territory. Hopefully, the team doesn’t keep her awake too late during those takes.
