Bridget Moynahan Tearfully Speaks Out After Blue Bloods Cancellation

Bridget Moynahan recently expressed her mixed feelings about ‘Blue Bloods’ ending during an interview on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ with co-star Donnie Wahlberg. The two talked about their thoughts while playing a clip from the final season that included the Reagan family’s trademark humorous banter at Sunday dinner.

Wahlberg, 54, expressed that the cast felt more upset and sad than happy and satisfied about the series ending. Moynahan, 52, added, “I think it’s more about saying goodbye to the people behind the characters. We’ve created such a family on set with each other and the crew. Most of the crew’s been with us for 14 years, so we’ve been through a lot together-weddings, births, deaths, everything.”

In another segment of the episode, Moynahan commended Wahlberg as her staunchest supporter, recalling how he defended her directing abilities when there were questions.

CBS confirmed in November 2023 that the long-running police procedural would conclude with its 14th and final season, split into two parts. CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach and CBS Studios President David Stapf praised the show, highlighting its devoted fan base and its legacy at CBS.

In response to the show’s renewal for a 14th season in March 2023, Wahlberg thanked the faithful fans, saying, “I adore ‘Blue Bloods,’ and I think if there wasn’t a season 14, the loyal fans of the show would be very, very furious. “They are members of the Reagan family.”

  1. After all the crap that has been directed at the Police and the Defund the Police effort. It sure would have been nice to have kept something on that put them in a better light then all the false things thrown at them. I think they deserve to have a show highlighting them! I have watched from the start ,paid so I could see each week. Loved everything about it ,everyone on it was a perfect fit.
Why should I pay for something that is no longer on What a mistake. Sure there are plenty more who feel as I do.

  2. I agree. Blue Bloods showed good police work. Family connection, bringing me back to when mt parents were still alive and we had that exact Sunday dinner.
Breaks my heart to see it end.

  3. Alot of Blue Bloods fans out there are gonna be angry at the show ending. Can’t beleive it last viewership…what was the reason for its end? I heard it was too costly to keep it going. OK, let’s watch CBS profits. If they made more and profits increased, then the answer is obvious…they just don’t care about ratings or the fan base. All about the money, despite growing profits.

  4. I cannot understand why the number 1 show on tv is going to b cancelled. It just makes no sense. Whatever will we watch now that has no profanity, no sex….just a good story line conveyed to us which also teaches us to respect our Policemen and women. This is a mistake……. a big one.
