Blue Bloods Fans Heartbroken as Series Faces Cancellation

The news that CBS’ hit family drama “Blue Bloods” will end after the upcoming 14th season surfaced on Monday, November 20, and fans are furious.

The show has been a huge hit for CBS since its debut in 2010, so it’s reasonable to say longtime viewers were taken aback by the news.

Fans flocked to social media to grieve the upcoming loss of the series, which focuses on the Reagan family in New York City and their police enforcement careers, after learning that Season 14 will be the final – which will be broken into two parts.

On the Reddit thread “Final Season,” u/DisneyAddict2021 began by saying, “I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m super bummed that season 14 will be the final season!”

They were certainly not alone. “I was shocked and upset to open Facebook and see the official news,” u/TakenAccountName37 replied. “They could renew it for a 15th season.” I’m not sure why CBS is so eager for it to stop.”

The original poster was equally astonished, writing, “Right!!?!” I was shocked too!” They admitted that, while 14 seasons was great, they believed the show could continue on for a few more, especially if Tom Selleck was on board.

Blue Bloods fans are heartbroken that their beloved show is coming to an end.

The mood on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, was identical to that of the aforementioned Reddit discussion.

Nonetheless, fans were quick to praise the show’s success and longevity up to this point, with @Funshinebear76 writing, “14 years is a big accomplishment! Friday nights will never be the same again.”

Another fan, @TYiouroukis, is already saddened about the series’ demise, saying, “End of an era.” I watched every episode. Very sad,” accompanied by a sobbing face emoji.

Meanwhile, @lisamarieLML believes CBS made a horrible financial decision: “Such bulls**t, they need to change this decision, the show can go on for several more years, [give me a break].”

Other long-running crime dramas were also mentioned, such as in this remark by @nyjetsgirl80x, who said they wished “Blue Bloods” had been more like an uber-popular NBC show: “Bittersweet being the final season. I was expecting it would last as long as SVU. But I’m looking forward to it.”

Fans are clearly going to miss “Blue Bloods,” as @catskrs pointed out. “This is horrible!” they exclaimed. “It’s been my favorite show since the beginning!” “I’m really upset!”
