Blue Bloods Fans Commenting on Their Preferred Partner of Danny’s

Even when they run a record-breakingly awful episode in terms of ratings, “Blue Bloods” remains one of the highest-rated primetime dramas on TV right now.

The series stars Tom Selleck and his incredible mustache as patriarch Frank Reagan, the NYPD Commissioner whose children follow in his professional footsteps, creating a very unique family dynamic. The Reagan family turmoil isn’t the only thing that keeps people turning in week after week.

Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) has changed partners more frequently than most fans realize throughout the course of the show. He’s had six different partners in total, including the brief appearance of DeMarcus King (Flex Alexander) in the pilot.

Given how frequently Danny has switched partners, a Reddit thread asked followers for their thoughts on who has been the best fit for Danny thus far. Fans appeared to be so certain of one certain winner that there was little room for disagreement.

Fans are certain that Jackie is the undisputed winner.

In that Reddit topic, u/Calisto_fox received the most votes by saying that Danny and Jackie Curatola (Jennifer Esposito) were a perfect match. u/donknoch soon confirmed this by openly claiming that nothing else was required.

The debate centered on Jackie and his present girlfriend, Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez), out of all the other options from which viewers might choose.

u/StevenArviv chimed in with some nuance, admitting that they can’t decide between Jackie and Baez, adding, “Jackie was a much better balanced ‘partner’ as a cop for Danny but Baez’s character compliments him more and is better for him as a person.” Jackie is simply a more reserved version of Danny.”

It’s awful that such a cherished fan favorite had to leave the program – but it’s much more heartbreaking when you understand why and the IRL drama behind the scenes. Esposito quit the show immediately after fainting on set due to a persistent ailment.

This was supposedly due to a strenuous filming schedule that her body couldn’t handle.

The producers released a statement in which they suggested that her part-time work schedule was incompatible with what they thought was ideal for the show, but they did not address her health difficulties.

Esposito quickly responded, alleging “ugliness” between her and the series’ producers but not going into much detail (via TV Line).

It’s unfortunate that Esposito’s departure from the show means that fans won’t get any more fun Jackie and Danny drama. But Esposito’s acting career is still blooming, so there are plenty of other shows to watch her on.
