Blue Bloods Fans Are Outraged By The Obvious ‘Inconsistency’ in Storyline of Frank Reagan

Angry viewers have expressed their disdain for the writing on Blue Bloods after spotting a major inconsistency in Frank Reagan’s storyline.

The complex dynamic of Blue Bloods’ Reagan family has captivated CBS viewers for 13 seasons.

The show follows the thrilling investigations of Frank Reagan (played by Tom Selleck) and his three adult children who all work in law enforcement.

It also demonstrates their unbreakable bond through key family dinners and their ability to assist one another with a case.

Despite this, fans have pointed out major plot holes throughout the seasons, such as Frank’s children’s birth order and factual policing errors.

This time, a viewer became enraged after noticing a major flaw in Frank’s personality.

On Reddit, u/OddlyLucidDuck claimed that the police commissioner had “double standards” for letting go of a person arrested for recording the mayor while he was in public and off duty.

The viewer did point out, however, that “literally the episode right before this one, S13E07, involved Frank personally reassigning a cop to fleet services because he was so upset that the officer didn’t try to stop an armed robbery while he was off duty.”

“So off-duty cops can do whatever they want as long as they get on the mayor’s nerves rather than Frank’s?”

u/Phycologial-Rub-78 responded, “Yup, the writing is never consistent.”

“The writing has been constantly changing since day one of the show,” U/save-therhino agreed.

“There’s a difference between recording someone while off duty and watching someone commit a cr1me and doing nothing,” u/SigSauerPower320 argued. “Oranges and apples.”

Although the Mayor’s security detail apprehended the man, Frank refused to press charges after learning that the man was an off-duty police officer.

While Garrett Moore (Gregory Jbara) expressed concern about public relations, Frank maintained his position, arguing that cops are harassed in this manner, so why should the mayor refuse to deal with it?

With season 14 already confirmed, showrunners could change Frank’s personality to correct the error.

This was the case earlier this season, when fans pointed out a major blunder involving Jamie Reagan (Will Estes) and Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray).

They were both married and working as police officers in the same precinct, which is against the rules.

Jamie accepted a promotion and became a field intelligence sergeant, which solved the problem.
