Mark Harmon is best known for his role as Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs on the popular primetime drama NCIS. Harmon has 17 seasons as the show’s lead character under his belt, and neither the writers nor the actors appear to be close to calling it quits. And, given that Harmon is now an executive producer on the show, he will almost certainly have some say in deciding when it’s time for a series finale.
After so many years as Gibbs, the actor has become inextricably linked to the stern and solemn agent whose past has left him in a state of internal turmoil. Though he has previously appeared in The Presidio alongside Sean Connery and Meg Ryan, as well as Sweet Bird of Youth alongside Liz Taylor, he will always be known to NCIS fans as Gibbs. However, Harmon isn’t the only one in his family who works in show business.

Pam Dawber, Mark Harmon’s wife, who previously co-starred in Mork & Mindy with Robin Williams, has retired from Hollywood but retains her impeccable sense of comedic timing. It should come as no surprise that Harmon and Dawber raised a son who is also interested in acting. Sean Harmon, Mark Harmon’s son, is also an actor, and you may recognize him from a few productions. He is, of course, Agent Gibbs!
In a few ‘NCIS’ episodes, Sean Harmon portrayed a young Agent Gibbs.
Sean Harmon was a recurring character on NCIS during its mid-years (from 2003 to 2008). Who better to play a young Gibbs than a man who shares the same ancestors as Mark Harmon? Sean Harmon appeared in the episodes “Life Before His Eyes,” “Engaged: Part I,” “Engaged: Part II,” “Mother’s Day,” “Deliverance,” and “Heartland” on NCIS. If you’re having trouble remembering NCIS episodes from over a decade ago, some of the actor’s other appearances may help.
In 2015, Sean Harmon played Charlie Connor on NCIS: Los Angeles. Sean Harmon also appeared in the 2016 short Ten Thousand Miles as Sgt. Terry Scott, and in 2019’s Alina as Henryk and Hold On as Mac.
Sean Harmon will also appear in the upcoming TV movie Thicker Than Thieves, which is currently in post-production. The film will follow a young group of deviants who are all pursuing the same goal. And, while you’re most likely to recognize Harmon from the aforementioned roles, you might have caught a glimpse of some of his stunt work if you have a keen eye.
Sean Harmon works as a stunt double and stunt coordinator as well.
Sean Harmon has also worked as a stunt double in a few films. He did stunts in Dumb and Dumber To, American Reunion, and other films. He has, however, served as a coordinator on numerous occasions.
Harmon worked as a stunt coordinator on The Sweet Taste of Redemption (2015), Takanakuy (2016), and The Labyrinth (2017). During his time in Hollywood, he also worked as a stunt rigger. Though you may know Harmon for his acting — and his uncanny resemblance to his father — his behind-the-scenes stunt work accounts for the majority of his recent Hollywood endeavors.
