Who is in The Cast of ‘NCIS’ Season 20..?

NCIS is only a few weeks away from debuting. When Mark Harmon left the show in season 19, it appeared that the show’s future was in jeopardy. Instead, CBS’s long-running drama will soon enter its 20th season. Harmon’s departure represents one of the most significant changes to the show’s cast, so let’s take a look at the NCIS Season 20 cast and what we know about the show’s second decade.

‘NCIS’ Season 20 cast: The main characters and guest stars

We know Harmon is no longer playing Leroy Jethro Gibbs, and CBS may make it a permanent departure in the future. Harmon will continue to serve as an executive producer on NCIS, but the cast will be different without him.

Gary Cole

Special agent Alden Parker is played by the veteran character actor. Cole appeared in all 21 episodes of Season 19. With Gibbs MIA at the start of the season and leaving the team early in the season, he took over as the team’s leader. Cole will also most likely take over as No. 1 in the NCIS Season 20 credits.

Sean Murray

Murray, who plays agent Tim McGee, is the show’s longest-serving regular. Ducky Mallard, played by David McCallum, has appeared in more episodes than Murray, though he is no longer a regular on the show.

Brian Dietzen

Since joining the NCIS cast in 2004, Dietzen’s character, Jimmy Palmer, has appeared in nearly every episode. Season 20 could feature a major storyline about his budding office romance with a relative newcomer (more on that below).

Rocky Carroll

Since 2008, Carroll has played director Leon Vance. In season 20, after forming a close bond with Gibbs over the years, he will attempt to do the same with Cole’s agent Parker.

Wilmer Valderrama

The former That ’70s Show star joined the NCIS cast in 2016 as agent Nick Torres and has appeared in nearly every episode since.

Diona Reasonover

Kasie Hines, the show’s one-time newest cast member from 2019, could appear in her 100th NCIS episode during season 20.

Katrina Law

Law joined the NCIS cast as agent Jessica Knight for season 19 just like Cole, and she called “All Hands” her favorite episode yet.

What we know so far about ‘NCIS’ Season 20

The landmark 20th season of NCIS is expected to keep the twists and turns coming, but we do know a few things to look forward to.

Law’s Jessica Knight is new to the team, but she already has a relationship with Dietzen’s Jimmy Palmer. Team romances on NCIS typically develop slowly (for example, Torres-Ellie Bishop and Anthony DiNozzo-Ziva David), but the producers and writing team have already expressed interest in hastening the Palmer-Knight relationship.

Teri Polo, a former The Fosters and Meet the Parents star, played agent Parker’s ex-wife Vivian Kolchak in two season 19 episodes. Vivian is expected to play a larger role in Season 20, with her and Parker on the run after Parker is falsely accused of murd3r.

When does the new season begin?

NCIS’s 20th season is a huge accomplishment, and the season begins with a must-see episode.

Parker’s team investigates who might have a personal vendetta against him in the hopes of clearing his name while Parker and Vivian are on the run. NCIS: Hawai’i special agents Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) and computer specialist Ernie Malick (Jason Antoon) appear in the episode “A Family Matter” and offer assistance.

Meanwhile, in the Season 2 premiere of NCIS: Hawai’i, Tennant’s team and NCIS agents Torres and Knight track Parker’s potential nemesis to Oahu.

The episodes will air back-to-back on Monday, September 19, at 9 p.m. ET.
