Tom Selleck understands what it means to be a “good dad.” On CBS’ Blue Bloods, he plays the father of a law enforcement family as a police commissioner, but in real life, he is a devoted father to his two children, Kevin Selleck and Hannah Selleck.

“He’s close [with his children] and a good dad,” an insider exclusively told Closer Weekly in January 2020, adding that the Golden Globe winner will go to any length for his son and daughter.

“Tom enjoys horseback riding and spending time with [Hannah].” She’s a beautiful young lady.”

The Magnum, P.I. alum has a family with his adored wife, Jillie Mack, but Tom had his first child with his first wife, Jacqueline Ray. From 1971 to 1982, the former couple was married. Tom adopted Jacqueline’s son, Kevin, whom she had with a prior partner in 1966, during their marriage.

It wasn’t until Tom married Jillie, a fellow actress, in 1987 that his daughter was born. Hannah was born in 1988, exactly one year after the couple married. Since then, the 3 Men and a Baby star and his blonde beauty have been going strong.

Tom is still highly active in the entertainment world and has no intentions to leave Hollywood anytime soon.

Throughout his career, he did take periodic breaks from show business, like when he “quit” his role on Magnum P.I. to “have a family” and focus on raising his children. “It took a long time to get off the train, but I try very hard to have balance,” he said to People in 2012.

Fortunately, Tom finally returned to the spotlight, and he has been a regular on Blue Bloods since 2010. Though balancing his personal and professional lives can be challenging at times, the K1llers star says his wife and children always keep things in perspective.

“As good as this business has been to me, life is about more important things,” he told Beliefnet once.

Tom has been so delighted to witness his children, Kevin and Hannah, develop into successful people.

Despite the fact that his children have built their own lives, Jesse Stone will always be there for his son and daughter. “Even when your children are grown, you never stop being a dad,” he told Parade in 2018.

Kevin Selleck

Tom’s first child was born in 1966, while the actor’s first wife, Jacqueline, was involved with another guy. Although it is unknown who Kevin’s original father is, Tom adopted him in August 1987 and has been his doting father ever since, according to sources.

Kevin followed in his renowned father’s footsteps and became an actor. According to IMDb, he has an acting credit in Magnum, P.I., and he also appeared in and contributed to the soundtrack for Scream 2 in 1997. In addition to acting, Kevin co-founded the rock band Tonic with Emerson Hart and Dan Lavery in 1993. Kevin played drums with the band for three years before leaving in 1996.

Kevin is married to Annabelle Selleck, and the couple has six children.

Hannah Margaret Selleck

Hannah, Tom’s daughter, was born on December 16, 1988. Though Hannah did not become a Hollywood star like her father, the brunette beauty is a great equestrian jumping athlete and model in her own way.

Hannah began horseback riding at a young age. She began studying at Foxfield Riding School in Westlake Village, California, a famous equestrian academy, after discovering a natural gift.

Because [my parents] are both artists, they believe that in order to be successful, you must be extremely enthusiastic about what you do. She once told Equestrian Living, “They encouraged me to be passionate about it and immersed in it, and from there it was kind of on me how much I wanted it.” They always let me take the initiative. It was entirely up to me whether I wanted to change barns or trainers.

She sustained a catastrophic injury in 2018. In a riding accident, the athlete broke her tibia and fibula. She was determined to return to the game after a lengthy rehabilitation.

She told Modern Luxury Palm Beach in January 2022, “I worked with an energy healer and we worked on a lot of guided meditations and visualizations.” My visualization was of myself and my horse being surrounded by a protective white light, and that we were safe over the jumps and throughout the course.

I recall thinking before the next tournament, ‘I don’t know if this is going to work, but we’ll give it a shot.’ We walked in, and I could feel the fear rising up within me. I simply closed my eyes for a moment and imagined this white light, and I rode pretty well.

Hannah enjoys being photographed in addition to horseback riding. “Ready for you 2021,” she captioned an Instagram photo of herself modeling for Horse and Style Magazine in January 2021.
