Blue Bloods’ cast are overjoyed with their show’s continued success.

Tom Selleck recently expressed his excitement that the show is entering its 13th season and hopes that it will continue to 300 episodes.

The veteran actor expressed his pride at being able to experience this success at his age and expressed his eagerness to continue.

Donnie Wahlberg spoke about why the program is still so popular and his pride in being a part of it.

The couple also mentioned other wonderful anniversaries they’re celebrating, with Wahlberg mentioning a fantasy casting fans have.

This adds to Blue Bloods’ incredible success, which shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Blue Bloods’ extraordinary success, according to Tom Selleck

Because of his renowned performance as Magnum P.I. in the 1980s, Tom Selleck was already a TV veteran. After leaving the big screen, he went on to star in the iconic Jesse Stone TV movies.

When Selleck took on the role of Frank Reagan in 2010, he had no idea Blue Bloods would become one of the most popular and profitable shows on television. After celebrating its 250th episode last year, the show is on track to reach 300 episodes.

Selleck discussed the series with Entertainment Tonight, expressing his surprise that it has lasted far longer than he imagined.

“We did eight [seasons] of Magnum [P.I.] and I thought I’d never get that lucky again, but now we’ve done 13 and we’re still going strong.” It’s difficult to predict 13 seasons and 300 episodes, but I’ve always thought the program had huge potential since there was police work but it was a character-driven drama.

And I believe my experience on Magnum was similar – being character-driven, the plot could evolve and alter as individuals aged, and all of that adds to your ability to write stories. We haven’t run out of ideas yet.”

That’s great news for the show’s fans, as it continues to be the highest-rated network series on Friday evenings.

Selleck isn’t the only one who is pleased with the show’s popularity; one of his TV sons is as well.

Donnie Wahlberg concurs on the success of Blue Bloods

Donnie Wahlberg was well-known for his work with the band New Kids on the Block and on a few TV shows prior to his role as Danny Reagan on Blue Bloods.

The hot-tempered officer has been through a lot, from the d3ath of his wife Linda to disagreements with his family, but he is still going strong, and Wahlberg agreed with Selleck on how fortunate he is to have such a long-running character.

“It takes a lot of luck to get here.” You need luck if you want to make a career in acting or show business. You need an audience that cares about your program or whatever you’re doing, as well as a fantastic crew. There are so many factors that go into it, but when we first started, I imagined it would be around for a short time; I had no idea it would last 13 years. But I was thinking five, maybe six or seven. But now it’s like a train. It simply will not quit rolling. It’s a miracle, incredible, and we are privileged and appreciative.”

Wahlberg addressed some fans’ hopes that his real-life wife Jenny McCarthy will appear on the program, possibly as Danny’s new love interest.

McCarthy is now presenting The Masked Singer, and Wahlberg joked, “I don’t think that’s going to work out.”

Both Selleck and Wahlberg had anniversaries. Selleck just celebrated 35 years of marriage to Jillie Mack. Meanwhile, next year marks the 35th anniversary of NKOTB’s breakthrough hit album.

Selleck’s anniversary remarks addressed not only his marriage but also Blue Bloods.

“Who’s counting?” Selleck reacted politely. “We’re having a great ol’ time.”

Fans are having as much fun as the actors are watching Blue Bloods continue for many more years to come.
