The Return of Jennifer Esposito to Blue Bloods is Permanent or Not? What Fans Should Know

You could have recognized a familiar face in the season 13 finale of Blue Bloods on Friday, May 19. Jackie Curatola (Jennifer Esposito), Danny Reagan’s (Donnie Wahlberg) former partner, returned to the show ten years after leaving it.

The question now is whether Jennifer Esposito will return to Blue Bloods indefinitely.

Blue Bloods, if you’ve forgotten, is a CBS police procedural. It chronicles the Reagan family, all of whom are actively involved in the New York City Police Department.

Jackie initially appeared on the show in its inaugural season in 2010. She was Danny’s partner for three seasons before getting sacked due to Celiac illness.

According to TVLine, Jennifer and the network had a history of enmity since the actress claimed the studio kept her on contract and suspended her without pay before replacing her.

“Look, they have a mission that needs to be performed. “I understand,” she explained to FOX Files. “Do you believe I can do it in the two or three days I’m offering in that… eight-day work space?” Then I understand; you must take my place. That was not the case, though. “What happened was ugly.”

Given the uproar over Jennifer’s exit from the show, many assumed she’d never be seen with Danny again. The network, however, had other plans.

When both Jackie and Danny had v1ctims with the same MO, Jackie rejoined Danny on the set of Blue Bloods for the season 13 finale. While fans were ecstatic to see Jackie return, it’s unclear whether this was a cameo or a genuine return.

Jennifer, on the other hand, appeared to have had a fantastic time during her brief appearance. On the night of the show’s finale, she made a few comments to it on Twitter.

The following day, she thanked Blue Bloods fans for their support but made no mention of a comeback.

Of course, many people commented on how much they missed her persona. “I’m so happy Jackie is back,” one person said. “You and Donnie have fantastic on-screen chemistry.” “Do you think they’ll ask you back, after how they treated you?” another person inquired. “You and Donny are fantastic together.” “I hope you stay for a few years,” said another.

It’s worth noting that Jackie wasn’t the only one who took fans by surprise. Nicky and Jack joined the Reagans at the table for dinner. Nicky was last seen in Season 11, while Jack was last seen in Season 12’s first episode. So it’s not just a matter of whether Jackie will be a fixture in Season 14, but also of the cousins.
