NCIS star Pauley Perrette is Almost Unrecognizable in an Early Role in the Popular ‘Sitcom’

Pauley Perrette is best known for her role as Abby Sciuto in the wildly popular NCIS franchise, but she is almost unrecognizable in some of her earlier roles.

While it’s well known that the 53-year-old has changed her appearance dramatically since leaving NCIS in 2018, it turns out that the actress looked very different before landing her role as the eccentric forensic scientist.

Relive Pauley’s 2018 look by watching Abby’s exit from the long-running CBS drama.

An image from one of her early career roles has surfaced online, revealing the New Orleans-born actress’s different appearance prior to her NCIS role. The image is from an episode of NBC’s hugely successful sitcom Frasier’s fourth season, which aired in 1997, in which the actress played a waitress.

Pauley can be seen in the episode Three Dates and a Breakup with a lighter hair color that is perhaps a little closer to her natural blonde color than the jet-black dyed hair that she is so well known for. Her hair has also been styled into a less common bob.

Frasier (NBC) stars Pauley Perrette.

The actress was only 27 years old when she appeared in the show alongside Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde Pierce. Prior to her role in the series’ famous coffee shop Café Nervosa, the young actress had only appeared in a few projects.

Parts of these appeared in Early Edition in 1997, Murd3r One between 1996 and 1997, and The Naked Truth in 1995. Pauley’s first acting role, according to IMDB, was in an episode of the children’s television show ABC Afterschool Specials in 1994.

While her role in NCIS was clearly the one that made Pauley a household name, starring in other such TV successes, even if in minor roles, no doubt helped prepare the actress for life as the hugely popular forensic scientist.
