Taking to Instagram, the actor, who plays Dr. Jimmy Palmer in the CBS drama, appears to have confirmed that filming on the upcoming episodes has begun.

He captioned a photo of his character’s iconic glasses with “Hello world.” I’m putting them on right now.

Fans flocked to the comments section to express their delight, with one person writing, “Yes!! “Welcome back, Dr. Palmer,” one person said, adding, “Yay!!!! Jimmy, welcome back. We’ve all missed you.”

“Happy to have you back!” wrote a third.

Season 21 of NCIS will premiere on CBS on February 12 at 9 p.m., so fans won’t have to wait long. It will be followed by the first episode of season three of NCIS: Hawai’i, which will air at 10 p.m.

The announcement was made on the franchise’s official Instagram page in the following statement: “The countdown begins NOW – NCIS Season 21 and NCIS Hawaii Season 3 premiere February 12 on @cbstv.” We can’t wait to meet you!”

So, what can fans look forward to in Season 21..?

While the show has remained tight-lipped about the new series’ storylines, we can expect to see the majority of the main cast return. Brian as Jimmy, Sean Murray as Special Agent Timothy McGee, Wilmer Valderrama as Special Agent Nick Torres, Katrina Law as Special Agent Jessica Knight, Gary Cole as Supervisory Special Agent Alden Parker, Diona Reasonover as Forensic Specialist Kasie Hines, and Rocky Carroll as NCIS Director Leon Vance are among those who have appeared in the series.

Donald “Ducky” Mallard, who was played by the late David McCallum, will sadly not be returning. Sadly, the actor died on September 25th.

In the upcoming season, the show will pay tribute to David. Brian confirmed this in an X message to a fan.

Brian responded to a viewer who wrote, “I simply hope for a chapter in honor of David McCallum,” saying, “There will be.”

While fans wait for the new series, they can watch NCIS: Sydney, a brand new spin-off drama in which a group of NCIS agents and the Australian Federal Police join forces to combat naval cr1mes in Sydney, Australia.

The series follows Special Agent Michelle Mackey and her second in command, Australian Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey, for those who haven’t seen it yet.

With rising international tensions in the Indo-Pacific, a brilliant and eclectic team of US NCIS agents and Australian Federal Police (AFP) are grafted into a multinational taskforce to keep naval cr1mes in check in the world’s most contested stretch of ocean. To solve each case, our team of Americans and Australians must quickly learn to trust one another, overcoming and harnessing their differences.
