You Won’t Believe What’s Coming for Torres in ’NCIS’ Season 23, Says Wilmer Valderrama

NCIS fans, get ready – romance might be on the horizon for one of your favorite agents!

As season 23 of the hit CBS drama premieres Tuesday, October 14, 2025, viewers are gearing up for more thrilling cases, but it’s not all about cr1me-solving. The personal lives of the NCIS team are about to take center stage, and it seems Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) could be stepping into uncharted romantic territory.

For a while now, Torres has been flying solo – and for good reason. In a recent TV Insider interview on October 13, Valderrama shared insight into his character’s dating life.

“It’s not that Torres has been heartbroken by relationships,” he explained. “He was a lone wolf who found a family with NCIS. Then he had to deal with the departure of people who were major influences in his life. All of that naturally shaped his cynicism when it comes to dating.”

Fans might recall Torres’ previous fiery romances with Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham) and Robin Knight (Lilan Bowden), both of which ended dramatically. So, naturally, some may have assumed he’d steer clear of love – at least for a while.

But Valderrama teased that this season may bring some surprises:

“We haven’t shot those episodes yet, but the writers are planning something very interesting,” he revealed. “I can tell you we’re working with the natural ingredients fans expect to come into his life again.”

And it sounds like Torres might not just be opening his heart – he could also be showing a new, lighter side.

“He’s still going to be the same grumpy smart ass,” Valderrama said, “but I think it’s fun to see him have certain colors.”

Intrigued? We definitely are. With Torres’ love life in the mix and new cases on the horizon, NCIS season 23 promises plenty of drama, laughs, and maybe even a little romance. Don’t miss it!
