Sean not only played a younger Gibbs in seven NCIS episodes (from 2008 to 2020), but he will also executive produce the new show with his father.
In a statement, Sean explained his connection to the project: “The character of Gibbs has been a significant part of my life for the past 20 years. I’ve witnessed my father craft the role and even had the honor of portraying young Gibbs myself. I’ve always felt there was more to be explored in Gibbs’ early years. So, I’m thrilled to be stepping into a producing role alongside my father and NCIS writers Gina Lucita Monreal and David J. North. Together, we’ll tell this new story and reveal a fresh perspective on this iconic character.”
This revision emphasizes Sean’s dual role as actor and producer, clarifies the timeframe for his NCIS appearances, and uses stronger verbs like “witnessed” and “explore” to make the text more engaging.
