NCIS Los Angeles: 9 Characters We Want to See Again Before the Show Ends

With NCIS: Los Angeles’ season coming to an end this year — the series finale is set for May 21 — we can’t help but wonder what we’d like to see with OSP.

As much as we enjoy the big explosions, intriguing cases, and undercover opportunities (which there are more of than on the other NCIS shows), it’s the characters who make the CBS drama what it is. That includes the series regulars, recurring characters, and even some of the one-time guest stars who have appeared over the 14 seasons.

And, because of where it all began, those characters include some JAG favorites. (LA is a spinoff of NCIS, which first aired as a backdoor pilot of JAG.) Scroll down to see who we’d like to see one more time (and yes, we realize there aren’t enough episodes left to see them all).

Hetty Lange

Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt) has been on an unknown mission (last seen in Syria), but while she’s previously left OSP behind, it just wouldn’t be the same if we didn’t see her one more time, and we won’t be picky! Sure, we’d like to see an episode dedicated to her explaining everything that’s happened to her and seeing her in her office, but we’ll take whatever we can get of her. We’d also like her to officiate Callen’s (Chris O’Donnell) wedding, as she did Kensi and Deeks’. (Eric Christian Olsen).

Nell Jones and Eric Beale

Ops haven’t been the same since Eric (Barrett Foa) and Nell (Renée Felice Smith) left, though the latter has since moved on. At the end of Season 12, they relocated to Tokyo to co-manage his company’s international office. But, with Callen’s wedding approaching, it’s the ideal opportunity to pay a visit to Los Angeles. And if that includes a stop in Ops, we won’t complain.

Nate

Nate (Peter Cambor) has come a long way since his days as the team’s operational psychologist, but his return would be easy to fit into an ongoing storyline of these last episodes: Callen’s past, and specifically Pembroke. (from the CIA program when the agent was a kid).

Kessler

The threat posed by Kessler (Frank Military) looms large over Kensi, as it has since his introduction in Season 12. We despise the idea of him being out there, and we’d like to see him dealt with — onscreen, because Ruah and Military’s scenes were so terrifying. After all, he’s not only a threat to Kensi’s life, but also to Deeks and Rosa (Natalia Del Riego).

Mac and Harm

In NCIS: Los Angeles Seasons 10 and 11, David James Elliott and Catherine Bell reprised their JAG roles as Harm and Mac, respectively, and this may be our last chance to see them. (and get an update on their lives, together and separate). The simplest method would be through some case, but it could also be a quick video call to provide some intel for whatever Hetty is up to.

Paulo Angelo

Paul Angelo (Daniel Henney), the NCIS agent who got a little too involved in an undercover assignment in Season 5’s “Three Hearts.” He was a fun character who owed Hetty a lot. Perhaps she could collect information about whatever she’s doing overseas.

Lisa Rand

The FBI agent (Alicia Coppola) has previously worked with the team, most recently on the Body Stitchers case, which is still ongoing. To be honest, we’re surprised she hasn’t been k1lled off and used in one of the k1llers’ displays. (It is still possible!) But, just as we’d like to see that case concluded, we’d like to see her return for the resolution.
