Eric Christian Olsen, star of NCIS: Los Angeles, has asked for his character to return for the cr1me franchise’s future spin-off show.

Marty Deeks was played by the actor in all 14 seasons of the CBS cr1me thriller before it was cancelled this year, moving from an LAPD Detective to an NCIS Investigator throughout the course of the series.

While NCIS: Los Angeles has been shelved, fans may still get their taste of police procedurals with the impending spin-off NCIS: Sydney, and Olsen has requested that Marty appear in the new Australian-set show.

The franchise’s official social media platforms shared a video teaser for the new spin-off, which features the brilliant weather and broad beaches of Sydney, and Olsen couldn’t help but leave a cheeky comment on the Instagram clip.

The actor teased that “Deeks loves surfing and Oz has great waves…,” implying that his character may find a new home within the NCIS universe.

The plot of NCIS: Sydney, which premieres in November, is as follows: “With rising international tensions in the Indo-Pacific, a brilliant and eclectic team of US NCIS agents and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) are grafted into a multinational taskforce to keep naval cr1mes in check in the most contested patch of ocean on the planet.”

Morgan O’Neill devised the series, which stars Olivia Swann (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow), Todd Lasance (Home and Away), Sean Sagar (Fate: The Winx Saga), Tuuli Narkle (Mystery Road: Origin), Mavournee Hazel (Neighbours), and William McInnes (The Newsreader).

When the series was announced, CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach suggested that it will have a “uniquely Australian twist,” adding, “This fascinating world has been a proven winner with viewers on both linear and streaming platforms.”

The new series will have the magnificent backdrop of Australia, as well as the high-stakes intrigue, comedy, and camaraderie that have kept fans enthralled by the NCIS teams for over two decades, she added.

  1. I’m so happy that Marty Derek’s back he very good actor I’ll watch the spin off if my charters I like plays in it. And agent sister in law love her good at what they do bring them all back

  2. I’ve read everything on here about NCIS SYDNEY..unfortunately I have never heard of any of the actors..possibly because we don’t get Aussie TV here in the States. If there is to be a spin off I could only watch it if OUR NCIS actors were part of it..that includes the 3 or 4 programs that have been cancelled. GO MARTY and take the rest of the crew with you..I’d luv to watch that!!
