People are paying tribute to David McCallum on social media, including the actor’s NCIS co-star Pauley Perrette.

David McCallum, best known for his portrayal as secret agent Illya Kuryakin in the television series The Man from U.N.C.L.E., d1ed on Monday (September 25) at the age of 90.

McCallum, whose d3ath was verified by his son, Peter, most recently appeared on NCIS as medical examiner Dr. Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard.

On Monday, the NCISverse rushed to Facebook to express how ‘truly grieved’ they were to learn of McCallum’s d3ath.

“We are […] privileged that CBS was his home for so many years,” the post says. David was a talented actor and playwright who was well-liked by people all around the world.

“He led an incredible life, and his legacy will live on forever through his family and the countless hours of film and television that will never be forgotten.”

“We will miss his warmth and endearing sense of humor, which brightened any room or soundstage he entered, as well as the brilliant stories he often shared from a life well-lived.”

Our thoughts are with his wife Katherine, his entire family, and everyone who knew and loved David.

McCallum’s NCIS co-star Perette, who played Abby Sciuto, also turned to social media to honor the actor, posting various photographs of the two from their 15 seasons on the program.

Oh David, says the Instagram caption. What an adventure. What an icon. What an adventure. And the love you have for your family will always be your legacy. Katherine, the kids, and the grandkids are your very favorite things.

“Swipe to see us through the years, starting with my favorite photo of me, David, and @sashaalexander.” And finally, a greeting from David and me to you all #DavidMcCallum.”

The final shot shows the pair carrying a placard that reads, “Thank you for all your wonderful messages.” “I adore you all!!”

Other coworkers, friends, and NCIS fans also paid respect to McCallum.

“Sad news on hearing David McCallum d1ed on Monday only a few days after his 90th birthday,” executive producer Peter Oxley wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“David appeared in a number of films, including Hell Drivers, Kidnapped, and The Great Escape, as well as hit television series such as The Man From UNCLE, The Invisible Man, Colditz, Sapphire & Steel, and NCIS.” #RIP.”

“We celebrate David McCallum’s life and long career,” said SAG-AFTRA. The actor, author, and musician turned 90 years old last week. Today, we pause to remember his contributions to our industry. Our hearts go out to his wife, children, and grandchildren. Since 1961, I’ve been a #sagaftramember.”

“David McCallum made every moment count, in life and on set,” one user concluded. Let’s raise a glass to a humorous, great, honest man. I only have three autographs. McCallum, Connery, and Tony Bennett. I had the same reaction as Steve McQueen in this scene from The Great Escape: “Wow!” David McCallum here! Nobody else did it better. We were fortunate to have him bring Ducky to us. Let us give all of our love to his lovely family. David, rest in peace.”
