Boston Blue, the new Blue Bloods spinoff, premieres October 17 on CBS. The series follows NYPD detective Danny Reagan, played by Donnie Wahlberg, as he takes a new position with the Boston Police Department. His move is inspired by his son, Sean Reagan, who is starting his own career in Boston.
The show will feature appearances from Blue Bloods stars, including Bridget Moynahan, though Sean Reagan has been recast. Andrew Terraciano played the role on Blue Bloods, but Mika Amonsen takes over for Boston Blue.
Amonsen, a Canadian actor from Toronto, has appeared in Reacher, Thanksgiving, Pachinko, Murdoch Mysteries, and more. He is also a musician, having served as lead guitarist in a Toronto-area rock band, and continues to live in the city where much of Boston Blue is filmed.
