NCIS Legend Mark Harmon, 74, Spotted Looking Nearly Unrecognizable During Sweet Ice Cream Outing with Wife Pam Dawber

In a rare public appearance, NCIS legend Mark Harmon, 74, was all smiles as he enjoyed a sunny ice cream date with his wife of 38 years, actress Pam Dawber, in Los Angeles.

Exclusive photos from The U.S. Sun show the longtime couple laughing together after picking up their frozen treats on Sunday, August 24. Pam held a soft serve cone while Mark hopped into his truck with a milkshake, flashing his trademark grin.

Once known for his salt-and-pepper hair as Special Agent Gibbs, Mark now sports a striking full head of white hair and matching brows. He kept things casual in navy shorts, sneakers, and a plaid button-down, while Pam looked effortlessly stylish in khaki cargo pants and a low bun that showed off her timeless beauty.

Life After NCIS

Mark has kept a low profile since leaving NCIS in 2021 after 18 seasons as Gibbs. However, he recently surprised fans with a cameo in the upcoming “Freakier Friday” sequel alongside Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, reprising his role as Ryan, Tess’s devoted husband.

As for a possible NCIS return, Harmon hasn’t ruled it out entirely. “It wasn’t so much a decision to leave, but the right timing to push away a little bit,” he told TVLine in 2024. “I was thrilled with the storyline and how they handled the character. And the show continued on.”

When asked if he might appear in the show’s eventual finale, Mark teased: “I don’t know. It’s really about feeling like you’re fulfilled with a role.”

A Lasting Love

Off-screen, Mark and Pam’s love story remains one of Hollywood’s most enduring. Married since 1987, the couple shares two sons – Sean, an actor and stuntman, and Ty, a screenwriter.

Pam, beloved for her role opposite Robin Williams in Mork & Mindy, briefly returned to TV in 2021 to guest star as journalist Marcie Warren during her husband’s final season of NCIS.

For Mark, stepping away from the spotlight has allowed him to focus on what truly matters. “I did NCIS because I wanted to stay home more with a young family,” he once said. “It was important to be able to make pancakes on Saturday morning.”

After nearly four decades together, it’s clear – Mark and Pam are still each other’s sweetest treat.
