Linda Hunt, 80, best known for playing Hetty Lange on NCIS: Los Angeles, was recently spotted during a rare public outing in Los Angeles, according to photos obtained by the Daily Mail.
For the outing, Hunt wore a white T-shirt featuring a dog illustration, gray jeans, and black sneakers. Her wife, Karen Kline, sported a striped T-shirt and jeans, with a hoodie tied around her waist. Kline and another woman were seen assisting Hunt as they walked together. The couple have been together since 1978 and married in 2008.
Hunt portrayed the brilliant and quirky operations manager Henrietta “Hetty” Lange on NCIS: Los Angeles from its 2009 debut until the show’s finale in 2023. Her role was reduced in later seasons, particularly after a 2018 car accident that required a lengthy recovery.
“I appreciate the outpouring of support from the fans,” Hunt said at the time. “Though I hoped to return at the start of the season, I needed more time to recover.”
Beyond NCIS, Hunt’s acclaimed career includes an Oscar-winning role in The Year of Living Dangerously (1982), as well as performances in Dune, Kindergarten Cop, Pocahontas, and Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Born with hypopituitary dwarfism and standing at 4 feet 9 inches, Hunt once told CBS News that watching Peter Pan on Broadway inspired her love for acting: “It was bigger than life,” she said. “And in some sense, I longed to be bigger than life, because I wasn’t.”
