Jim Ward, Beloved Voice of Nickelodeon’s The Fairly OddParents, Dies at 66

Voice actor Jim Ward, best known for his work on The Fairly OddParents, has died at 66 following complications from advanced Alzheimer’s disease, his wife Janice confirmed.

Ward passed away on Wednesday, December 10, while receiving care at Silverado Beverly Place Memory Care in Los Angeles. His longtime representative, Arlene Thornton, described him as an extraordinarily talented and loyal client whose quick improvisation and spot-on impressions brought joy to everyone around him.

In recent years, Ward faced significant health challenges. In 2021, he suffered severe C0V1D-19 after being hospitalized for a cognitive issue, leaving him paralyzed for four months. He was later diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

Radio host Stephanie Miller, who co-hosted The Stephanie Miller Show with Ward from 2004 to 2017, also confirmed his death, remembering him as “beyond brilliance.”

Ward was a Daytime Emmy Award winner, earning the honor in 2009 for Biker Mice from Mars. He was especially beloved for voicing Doug Dimmadome and Chet Ubetcha on The Fairly OddParents, appearing in nearly 100 episodes during the show’s 10-season run.

His career spanned decades and included voicing K.I.T.T. in Knight Rider, roles in animated films and series like Cars, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Wolverine and the X-Men, as well as extensive work in major video games including Star Wars, Fallout, Call of Duty, Red Dead Redemption II, and Batman: Arkham Knight.

Ward is remembered as a gifted performer whose voice left a lasting mark across television, film, radio, and gaming.
