George Strait, 71, Confesses She Was the Love of His Life

George Strait is widely known as the “King of Country,” breaking countless records with number-one hits, award wins, and massive album sales throughout a legendary career spanning decades.

Born in Texas in 1952, Strait grew up working on his father’s ranch. Though he initially loved rock music, live country performances eventually inspired him to pursue the genre.

His love story with Norma Strait began in high school. The couple eloped in Mexico in 1971 and built a strong partnership that supported his rise to stardom.

Despite incredible success, tragedy struck in 1986 when their daughter Jenifer died in a car accident at just 13 years old, a heartbreaking loss that deeply affected the family.

Through grief and decades of fame, Strait credits Norma for standing by his side. Their enduring marriage and shared faith remain central to the country legend’s life and career.
