Donnie Wahlberg reveals that wife Jenny McCarthy joins him on the set of Blue Bloods, even though she’s not seen on camera during the famous Sunday dinners. “She’s that extra person at the family dinner,” says co-star Bridget Moynahan. “The phone is always there, and in between takes it’s like, ‘Hi, honey,’ ‘Hi, honey,’ and we’re all, ‘Jenny!’ So she’s always there.”
Wahlberg, who plays Det. Danny Reagan, discusses how they stay close when he is in New York filming and McCarthy is in Los Angeles for The Masked Singer. “We now have the luxury of being able to sleep together when we’re apart,” he said. “So whomever goes to sleep first simply calls the other. We spend the entire night together when we aren’t together.”
“It’s like, why not?” Wahlberg says. “We’re gonna miss each other, why wake up saying, ‘Oh God I missed you, I woke up at 3 in the morning.’ I tell her, ‘If you wake up at 3 in the morning, can’t sleep, just tap me on the shoulder through the phone and I’ll wake up and hang out with you.'”
