Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg Has Landed A New Project Away From CBS Drama – Joining NCIS Boss

After over a decade portraying Detective Danny Reagan on Blue Bloods, Donnie Wahlberg is venturing into new territory with some exciting projects. The actor and New Kids on the Block singer has partnered with top TV creatives from Halo and NCIS to executive produce two upcoming cop dramas for CBS.

Wahlberg has collaborated with Halo writer Steven Kane and NCIS writer Chad Gomez Creasey, as announced on December 5. These collaborations will result in the creation of Samaritan and Harbor Blue, two innovative perspectives on police dramas.

The first of these, Samaritan, follows the story of a young hustler who stumbles upon a glitch in an app that alerts her to cr1mes and emergencies before they occur. She joins forces with a seasoned detective to stop tragedies before they happen. Kane will executive produce alongside Wahlberg, with Creasey contributing to the story.

The second drama, Harbor Blue, follows a group of adrenaline seekers in the NYPD Harbor Unit. These cops are responsible for patrolling the perilous 576 miles of coastline encircling New York City, bringing justice on both land and water. Creasey, who co-executive produced NCIS and NCIS: New Orleans, will collaborate closely with Wahlberg on new series.

Wahlberg shared the exciting news with his fans on Instagram, calling it an “exciting” development. His 1.7 million followers quickly showed their support, with many expressing their enthusiasm on social media.

Although it is unclear whether these new initiatives will have an impact on his involvement on Blue Bloods, fans can still expect to see him in season 13. The following episode, “Poetic Justice,” will run on December 9, followed by the series’ return on January 6.

For now, audiences will have to wait for more details, including release dates and casting news for Samaritan and Harbor Blue. Until then, it’s clear that Donnie Wahlberg is continuing to prove his talents beyond the screen.
