Brad Pitt’s Mother, Jane Etta Pitt, Dies at 84

Brad Pitt’s mother, Jane Etta Pitt, has passed away at the age of 84, sources confirmed to TMZ and People. According to reports, Jane died within the past couple of days.
While Brad’s rep declined to comment, the news was confirmed publicly by Jane’s granddaughter, Sydney Pitt – daughter of Brad’s brother, Doug – in a heartfelt Instagram tribute.
“My sweet Grammy, Jane Etta, we were not ready for you to go yet,” Sydney wrote. “But knowing you are finally free to sing, dance, and paint again makes it a tad easier.” She praised her grandmother’s generosity, creativity, deep faith, and unconditional love, sharing cherished memories of banana splits for breakfast, games of Trouble, and visits to Silver Dollar City and Olive Garden.
“She could keep up with all 14 of us grandkids,” Sydney added. “There was no limit to the love she gave.”
Jane, a retired school counselor, raised Brad, 61, and his siblings, Doug, 58, and Julie, 56, in Springfield, Missouri, alongside her husband, William, who owned a trucking company.
Though she kept a low profile, Jane occasionally appeared at major events with Brad, including the 2012 Oscars and the 2014 premiere of Unbroken, directed by then-daughter-in-law Angelina Jolie.

Just weeks before her passing, Brad gave his mom a shoutout during a Today interview, saying, “To Jane Pitt. Love you, Mom.”
Jane is remembered for her warmth, creativity, and unwavering love – a lasting presence in her family’s hearts.
