Boston Blue Brings Back Beloved Blue Bloods Stars for a Major Reunion

BOSTON BLUE will officially reunite Blue Bloods favorites Detective Maria Baez and Danny Reagan in Season 1, Episode 6.

Marisa Ramirez and Donnie Wahlberg return as the romantic duo, marking their first time working a case together since Blue Bloods, TV Insider reported on November 4. On the new series, Danny joins the Boston Police Department after his son Sean moves there. Baez briefly appeared in Episode 3, visiting from New York.

Episode 6, titled “Code of Ethics,” follows Danny and Lena as they track a serial home invader with help from Baez. Meanwhile, Sean’s new romance hits a snag, and Mae and Sarah uncover a leak that threatens the justice system.

Ramirez told Us she’s grateful Baez was brought into Boston Blue rather than written off. “It was really sweet and generous… a treat for all of the Blue Bloods fans left hanging with their relationship,” she said. While Baez and Danny are still navigating a long-distance romance, she thinks Baez and her daughter Elena could easily make Boston home. She also teased some relationship tension: “You’re honestly just gonna have to watch… and still be worried about the long-distance thing.”

Wahlberg also hinted that more Blue Bloods characters will appear on Boston Blue: “Originally, there were zero castmates in the pilot; now they’re creeping in.” He even hopes success might lead to another spinoff-or a feature film bringing both ensembles together.
