While Tom Selleck personifies the ideal law enforcer, others excel at portraying lawbreakers. In “Blue Bloods,” Season 9, Episode 19 (“Common Enemies”), a well-known Hollywood tough guy plays the main villain.

Lou Diamond Phillips reprises his role as Louis Delgado in “Blue Bloods,” teaming up with Officer Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) to apprehend ruthless Cartel k1ller Jose Rojas, also known as The Clam.

Rojas is revealed to be responsible for the death of Delgado’s wife, Linda Reagan (Amy Carlson). A tense undercover operation leads to a brutal brawl between Delgado and Rojas.

Despite the opportunity for revenge, Detective Reagan chooses justice, arresting Rojas, played by Danny Trejo of “Machete” and “Desperado” fame.

“Blue Bloods” continues to cast top-tier talent, utilizing Danny Trejo’s unique skill set to portray a character capable of targeting a Reagan.

Trejo’s stellar reputation for portraying convincing lawbreakers stems from his uncanny ability to play the antagonist in a variety of projects.

Danny Trejo has extensive on- and off-screen cr1minal experience.

Unlike most with cr1minal backgrounds, Danny Trejo leveraged his past for success in Hollywood. Transitioning from prison to acting, he found his unfiltered look and troubled history gave him a unique edge in the industry.

Trejo’s sincerity shines through when he plays thugs and k1llers. His personal experience as well as his versatile portrayal of characters such as ‘Inmate No. 1’ and ‘Bad Guy’ make him a popular choice in Hollywood.

Trejo, who grew up in institutions in California, embraced the role of a convict in “Runaway Train” without hesitation.

Trejo embraced his frequent roles as the tough Chicano with tattoos, unbothered by being typecast. In an interview with IMDb, he recalled, “I am the mean Chicano dude with tattoos. Go with what you got!”

There’s no denying Trejo is proud of the tough guy legacy he’s cultivated, whether it’s playing minor roles like The Clam on “Blue Bloods” or executing enforcer duties in the actor’s long list of credits.
