Amy Morton made her Blue Bloods debut in Season 3, Episode 20 as Amanda Harris, the Bureau Chief at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. At first, she appears to be an ally to Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan), even offering her the position of Deputy Bureau Chief.
But Erin soon discovers that Harris ignored a confirmed alibi in an earlier case, choosing to pursue charges against the accused as a repeat offender. Erin, guided by her integrity, has the case reexamined.
By Season 4, Harris’ corruption becomes undeniable. The finale reveals that she partnered with a madam named Ilene Clayton (Michelle Sebek), sending sex workers to powerful men-including a congressman and NYPD Chief of Department Dino Arbogast (John Ventimiglia)-and using the encounters for blackmail. Erin exposes the scheme, leading to Harris’ arrest. Morton’s Blue Bloods run ends there, after five episodes.
While her time on Blue Bloods was brief, Morton remains a familiar face on network TV. Since 2014-the same year she left the CBS drama-she has starred as Sergeant Trudy Platt-McHolland on NBC’s Chicago P.D. She has appeared in more than 200 episodes of the hit series, making her one of the show’s most enduring cast members. Fans who enjoyed her on Blue Bloods can continue to see her in action in the One Chicago universe.
