It is normal for characters on any TV show to become fan favorites, depending on their respective story arcs; and NCIS has been no exception. For a long time, for fans the most annoying was always Abby Sciuto, but now she was dethroned by another currently on the show.
NCIS, the long-running naval cr1me drama that debuted on CBS in 2003, entered its 19th season on Monday, September 20, with major changes to the team of special agents.
Over more than 400 episodes, the show has introduced numerous characters-many of whom were written out either by being k1lled off or due to creative shifts.
While plenty of characters have been beloved, others haven’t fared as well with viewers. One prominent example is forensic scientist Abby Sciuto, played by Pauley Perrette. Abby was a fan favorite during much of her 15-year run on the show, but over time, some fans grew irritated by her quirky personality, eventually labeling her as childish and annoying. She even topped fan polls as the most hated character on NCIS for a while.
However, according to a recent fan poll shared by Express, Abby has now been dethroned. The new title of most annoying character belongs to Nick Torres, portrayed by Wilmer Valderrama. Introduced in 2016 as an undercover agent before becoming a series regular, Torres has drawn criticism from fans who believe he feels like a poor imitation of fan-favorite Tony DiNozzo.
The show’s global fanbase has always had strong opinions about its characters, and while some exits were mourned, others were welcomed. In this case, fans have spoken clearly-Torres has taken the top spot among the least liked characters on NCIS, pushing Abby down to second place.
- “For me, that honor is for Torres. He is conceited, arrogant, self-absorbed and never follows orders. He complains and complains about almost all tasks”.
