Will NCIS stars Cote de Pablo & Michael Weatherly Appear in a New Spin-Off Show..?

With the cancellation of the Los Angeles spin-off and Michael Weatherly teasing his return to the show, the NCIS franchise has given fans plenty to talk about in recent months.

Is there room for a Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David spin-off now that the LA series is ending in May?

While CBS has yet to make any announcements, it’s possible that a new series starring Michael and his former co-star Cote de Pablo could be in the works.

Not only has Michael dropped major hints about a potential reunion with Cote, but the franchise also has a history of canceling one spin-off and launching another.

CBS announced in February 2021 that the seventh season of NCIS: New Orleans would be the final one, with the final episode airing in May.

The same month, anonymous sources told The Hollywood Reporter that a new spin-off show titled NCIS: Hawai’i was in the works. CBS confirmed the news two months later, in April.

Michael hinted at a Tony and Ziva reunion.

While nothing has been confirmed or announced, there’s no reason to believe that the cancellation of NCIS: Los Angeles hasn’t made room for another spin-off.

So, what has Michael said about his potential return?

On New Year’s Day, he wrote in a reflective tweet: “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! It’s time to look at the clock and enjoy the present!”

One fan commented, “We all would rather look at you and Ziva reuniting and enjoying that moment,” prompting Michael to respond, “Stay tuned… for this might be an interesting year for such’moments’!”

He also hinted at a possible return to the long-running drama in May of last year. Taking to his Twitter account, he shared a TV Insider article that asked: “NCIS: Will Michael Weatherly return for a guest spot with ‘Bull’ ending?”.

He wrote in the caption: “Tonight, at the end of @BullCBS, I’m reflecting on 22 years of television. It’s been a fantastic experience working with thousands of actors and hundreds of directors on Dark Angel and @NCIS CBS. I’m taking some time to reflect on everything. And, of course, the question: @tvinsider.”

Fans will have to wait and see with this one, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed!
