Why is Blue Bloods Coming To an End..?
CBS has not provided a specific reason for ending ‘Blue Bloods,’ but on November 20, they released a statement acknowledging the show’s legacy.
CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach and CBS Studios president David Stapf expressed gratitude to star Tom Selleck, the late executive producer Leonard Goldberg, and the dedicated fan base.
The executives promised a ‘most satisfying season yet’ for the show’s conclusion while thanking the writers for crafting the final chapter.
Tom Selleck expressed gratitude, stating, “For the past 13 years, it has been an honor to work on a show celebrating the men and women of the NYPD and highlighting the importance of family.
Working with this incredible team has been a dream come true, and I’m grateful to have been part of it for over 275 episodes. Thank you to CBS Studios, CBS Network, and the fans who gathered with us every Friday night for dinner.”
Blue Bloods faced challenging negotiations for its renewal in March 2023, with CBS seeking substantial budget cuts, including a 25% reduction for above-the-line talent.
The cast and producers eventually agreed to salary cuts to secure the renewal. Sources suggested that the renewal came with the understanding that Season 14 would be the series’ last.
While not officially confirmed, it’s highly likely that budget constraints played a role in the show’s conclusion.
