Tom Selleck, best known for Magnum P.I. and Blue Bloods, recently made a rare public appearance in Los Angeles with a startling new look. The 78-year-old singer, known for his distinctive handlebar mustache, seemed practically unrecognizable with a big beard and salt-and-pepper hair, a far cry from his polished onscreen presence.
Casually dressed in a navy T-shirt and black shorts, Tom was spotted driving through a McDonald’s drive-thru and running errands in his pickup truck around the San Fernando Valley. Despite his celebrity status, he seemed lost in thought, adding an air of mystery to his outing.
These photos emerge during the break of Tom’s hit show Blue Bloods owing to the SAG-AFTRA strikes, which have left several projects in limbo. While expectations continue for a resolution similar to the recent WGA strike agreement, Tom stays out of the spotlight, with these photos capturing a scene from just a month ago.
Renowned for his roles in Magnum P.I. and films like Three Men and a Baby, Tom has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity for his portrayal of New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan on Blue Bloods. Off-screen, he celebrates 36 years of marriage with fellow actress Jillie Mack, whom he still describes as his infatuation despite decades together.
Their marriage, which began in 1987, has produced a daughter, Hannah, and Tom’s son, Kevin, from his previous marriage. Rumors have circulated regarding Tom’s probable memoir, which promises insights into his life both in and out of the spotlight, but no updates have been released since 2019.
